The summer after graduating college I landed my first big-time downtown Denver agency internship. I fondly recall my first impressions of big city life after college — from the highrise buildings towering above busy streets below, Starbucks on every corner and women streaming by in designer suits and stiletto heels, chattering on their cell phones. For a recent Boulder graduate like me, downtown Denver was a far cry from the funky whimsical boutique shops and businesses of Pearl Street and my campus packed with college girls dressed in sweatpants and Uggs.
Several weeks before my first day of work, Mom took me shopping to help assemble a professional wardrobe. Meanwhile, Dad sent me a silver briefcase to carry around work papers. When the briefcase arrived in the mail, I couldn’t help but think it looked like something a CIA agent might use to carry secret documents (attached to his wrist with a pair of handcuffs!). Needless to say, the briefcase promptly went under the bed and was never heard from again.
These days, carrying my MacBook and work papers is done in bright style thanks to our friends at Stag&Hare who created the Cuddly Monkey tote. We share offices with Stag&Hare in New York City and Atlanta, and we gladly agreed to do blogger outreach for this fetching tote. One of the perks of this job is getting my own Cuddly Monkey tote (after all, you have to carry one to promote it, right?).
Truth? This bag has been my saving grace over the past month, particularly good for this gal, who’s always on the go….literally! From the few days I spent visiting colleagues at the Atlanta office to the perfect poolside companion during my Maui “babymoon,” trips to the farmers market and library… even my husband enjoyed toting around the bag.
