So, You Wanna Work in Influencer Marketing?

So, You Wanna Work in Influencer Marketing?

Interning at Everywhere Agency has been a lot like being thrown into the deep end, but with plenty of resources and mentors that keep you calmly afloat. Don’t get me wrong, it’s work and a lot of it, but through it all, I’ve gained so much knowledge of influencer marketing and working at an agency.

At the end of my time here, I will be making the big move to the Big Apple! I couldn’t have asked for a better internship to help prepare me for my next job position in New York City, and here’s why:

Mentors on Mentors on Mentors

I knew I wanted a part-time internship that would work with my schedule and provide a valuable experience where I could contribute my skills as well as learn new ones. I got all of that and more being in an office full of badass women leading the way in their industry. Even as an intern, I was able to work closely with the CEO, Danica Kombol, and the Vice President, Kelly Dye. Collaborating with such powerful women has been truly inspiring, and I feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to do so!

The only way I was able to learn and grow so much is because of the great mentorship I received. Everyone pushed and challenged me in order to teach me. They were always available to answer questions and to offer constructive feedback that helped make my work better and more thoughtful.

Variety of Experience

You will never be bored as an intern at Everywhere Agency! I’ve had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, such as contributing to a real campaign from start to finish, creating content, and participating in a social media training for Cox Enterprises. Through each of these unique experiences, I’ve been able to apply skills from my classes at UGA, such as account management, copywriting, and social channel strategies, and expand upon them through real-life application.

My first week, I attended Everywhere’s signature networking event, Under the Influence, and got the opportunity to help host a Twitter chat. All of these experiences gave me an understanding of how to navigate the ever-expanding world of the influencer marketing industry.

You Gon’ Learn Today (and Every Day)

Throughout this internship, I have genuinely felt that everyone here wanted me to succeed through learning. I was able to complete assignments I didn’t know if I was ready for, and I was given space to identify ways I could improve my work. This internship has definitely been a learn-as-you-go experience, which is great and has allowed me to substantially expand my skillset with a newfound confidence in my abilities.

Influencer Insight

Not only did I learn valuable skills at Everywhere Agency, but I also developed a deep interest in influencer marketing. In fact, I will be working at an ad agency in the influencer marketing department when I move to New York City. When I started at Everywhere I was familiar with influencer marketing, but I quickly learned that there are so many facets to consider. Not to mention many common pitfalls and how to avoid them – particularly on the agency side. The challenge of this innovative industry that relies on creativity and strategic thinking to drive results is what led me to pursue a career in it after leaving Everywhere.

I can’t recommend this internship enough because of the passionate ladies at Everywhere and their deep knowledge of this industry. Everyone at Everywhere has a genuine interest in seeing the people they work with succeed and a constant desire to learn from one another.
